WORKBOATS
Snow & Company builds quality custom workboats that get the job done. We can accommodate larger builds and complex projects. Our skilled team of experienced craftsmen and state of the art construction facility will allow us to continue our expansion and build ever more complicated projects.
Project Spotlights:
41' WORKBOAT LARGE US NAVY
Our somewhat small, heavily built, steel tugs with aluminum superstructures are operated by a crew of two with a capacity for up to five passengers and a 3,100-lb. total payload.
Built with precision and integrity as a Naval shore installation support vessel, these workboats are capable of assisting barges, submarines and other naval vessels. They can also be employed in opening and closing security barriers or to tow/push other floating port support equipment.
30' WORKBOAT MEDIUM US NAVY
The mission of the Workboat Medium is to provide naval shore installations with capability to meet various port operations and barrier tending requirements. This includes the ability to safely assist barges, submarines, and other naval vessels, open and close security barriers, and to tow/push floating port operations support equipment.
50' HYBRID RESEARCH CATAMARAN BATTELLE
Recently completed 50’ Hybrid research catamaran for the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. It is the first and only hybrid vessel in the Department of Energy’s fleet. “R/V Resilience” was designed by Incat Crowther with propulsion integration provided by Pacific Power.
Hybrid propulsion is accomplished by joining twin Volvo Penta marine engines, and two Danfoss motor-generators. Power is stored using a Spear Trident battery system. This new combination allows the vessel to operate in a zero-emission “quiet” state, which is a more effective approach for marine research. This innovative model is less intrusive for studying fish and wildlife while also greatly reducing air pollution and carbon dioxide emissions.
26' TRUCKABLE TUG WALWRATH CONSTRUCTION
Marlene Kay is a 26' Truckable Tug built by Snow & Company in 2020. This vessel is powered by Twin Cummins engines producing 330bhp. The aluminium wheelhouse and steel hull tug offers a top speed of 7 knots.
